Multimedia Redesign Project at Jemez Springs, New Mexico

At the Media Arts Department at New Mexico Highlands University, every other year the Program of Interactive Cultural Technology takes on a daunting task; the task of updating current exhibits or designing new exhibits for cultural institutions all over New Mexico. These are permanent exhibitions designed and built by students who enroll in the program and encompass many multimedia roles, such as; design, video, audio, interactivity and storytelling…all of which leads to the historical enrichment and cultural preservation of the area.

This project took place during the spring of 2019, and is permanently installed at Jemez Springs, New Mexico Historical Site. I, Jacob Erickson, worked mainly on filming oral history interviews and editing together a cultural narrative piece on the story of the Jemez People told in the Toa language.
